The ISPCA warmly welcomes the increase in animal welfare funding for 2023 and thanks Minister Charlie McConalogue and his Department for their commitment to improving the welfare of all animals.
ISPCA CEO Dr Cyril Sullivan said: “We are very grateful for this years allocation of €979,325 representing an increase of 44% compared to 2022 which will make a significant difference to the ISPCA’s work throughout 2023. The €979,325 is made up of €891,750 to support our National Animal Centre in Longford, €60,175 for our Equine Rescue Centre in Cork and €27,400 for our Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Donegal. The Departments Animal Welfare Strategy committed to doubling the funding allocated to animal welfare charities and the ISPCA is delighted that this commitment has been delivered on. In addition, the grant comes at a time where funding is needed more than ever and will help towards the increasing costs, which are at an all-time high, due to the current cost of living crisis”.

Huge thanks to Minister Charlie McConalogue and his Department for this support, which will help fund our life-saving work, rescuing and caring for cruelly treated, neglected and abandoned animals. These animals are given their first step of their journey to a new start in loving new homes.
