Step One: Research and Visit
Begin by researching the ISPCA’s available animals on our Adopt page or by visiting one of our adoption centres. Explore the profiles and descriptions of the animals to find one that matches your lifestyle and preferences.
Step Two: Application
Fill out an adoption application form provided by the ISPCA. This form typically includes questions about your living situation, previous pet ownership experience, and the type of animal you are interested in adopting.
Step Three: Interview
Once your application is received, the ISPCA may schedule an interview to discuss your preferences, expectations, and lifestyle. This step helps them understand your needs and ensures a suitable match between you and the animal.
Step Four: Home Visit
In some cases, an ISPCA team member may conduct a home visit to assess the environment in which the animal will be living. This visit helps us ensure that the space is safe, secure, and suitable for the specific animal you wish to adopt.
Step Five: Meet and Greet
If your application is approved and your home visit is successful, you will have the opportunity to meet the animal you are interested in adopting. This meeting allows you to interact with the pet and assess compatibility before making a final decision
Step Six: Adoption Fee and Documentation
Once you have decided to adopt the animal, you will be required to pay an adoption fee of €200. This fee helps cover the cost of veterinary care, vaccinations, and other services provided by the ISPCA. You will also need to sign adoption paperwork, which typically includes an adoption agreement and medical records of the animal.
Step Seven: Taking Your Pet Home
After completing the adoption process and finalising the paperwork, you are ready to bring your new pet home. The ISPCA may provide guidance on transitioning the animal to their new environment and offer advice on caring for your new companion.
