At the ISPCA, our mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, promote animal welfare, and proactively relieve animal suffering. Our Centres provide vital support for animals in need, offering rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption services.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of all animals, and our team of skilled and compassionate staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives the care and attention they deserve.
As with all animal welfare groups, there is a constant demand for spaces. However, the ISPCA, in conjunction with the Gardai, deals with a larger amount of cruelty prosecution cases than other organisations. Many of our animals must be kept for long periods as a result of court proceedings. This obviously places an increased financial burden on the ISPCA, which can be further exacerbated by the fact that on conviction many offenders are not required by the courts to pay the costs we sustain.
It must be kept in mind that the Centre is home to many of the most abused and neglected animals in the country and as such their rehabilitation prior to rehoming can be protracted. This is especially prevalent in our equine section where many months of care and expensive veterinary and farrier treatments are required prior to rehoming.
Your support can make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of these deserving animals. Donate today to help us continue our vital work in preventing cruelty, promoting welfare, and relieving suffering for animals in need.
