Valentine’s Day is the purrfect occasion to celebrate the unconditional love we receive from our furry companions, making it the loveliest day to shower them with extra love and affection.
For the hundreds of animals in ISPCA care who sadly won’t experience the joy of waking up to a loving family of their own, our dedicated care assistants and volunteers are ensuring they have an extra special day, of love and affection. We will be treating them to extra goodies, quality time, and all the love and attention they truly deserve, celebrating the true spirit of love on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day is the loveliest day to reflect on meaningful lifestyle changes, such as supporting your favourite animal welfare charity to help make a positive impact on the causes you care about.
Here is a few things you can do!
Bring your pet on a Valentine’s playdate: You could take a leisurely stroll, grab some food at a local pet-friendly café, check out a pet-friendly park and spend some lovely quality time together.
Couch Potato: Sometimes spending a nice quiet evening with your pet is just what you both need. If your pet loves a snuggle, this is the perfect choice. Grab a blanket, some snacks and cosy up with a movie!
Hike with your pet: If you fancy getting away to enjoy nature and some fresh air on Valentine’s Day, why not can take your pet on a nice hike! Bring a picnic and hit your favourite trail for the day. You can also try somewhere new!
Hit the beach: No matter what the weather is like, you can’t beat the coastal fresh air or a walk by a lake or river, and there is never a bad time to get some fresh air. We are surrounded by some beautiful scenery, so why not explore some places that you haven’t visited before. Always stay safe around water and keep your dog on a lead. Don’t forget to bring some fresh water and of course poo bags for your pet!
Book a holiday: There are plenty of pet-friendly hotels in Ireland and abroad so treat yourselves to a stay away!
Have a fun photoshoot! Take some adorable pictures of your pet that you can print and frame (we’d love to see them too so share and tag us on social media!)
