Happy Tails with Tyra Banks

A year ago Tyra was adopted and is now the center of attention in her new home

We were so happy to receive this lovely update from Joe, Therese and Meabh, who adopted Tyra Banks over a year ago from the National Animal Center in Longford.

“Just over a year ago we picked up the lovely Tyra Banks and brought her home for the first time. She is now the centre of all that happens in our home and we want to say a huge thank you to you all.

Tyra loves her walks and goes into a tailspin when she sees the high vis jacket going on every evening. She is happy to walk no matter what the weather although one or two stormy nights when I didn’t venture as it was too wild she still had the head up to go. Tyra loves walking in the long grass and has made some little paths for herself along our route. Also loves going for a paddle in the stream and has a particular fondness for picking up any stray plastic bottles, drink cans or take away cups and carrying them for the whole walk. Not sure why she does this but it seems to make her day when she finds one. She drops them when we get home and they did their way to the bin instead. She is our tidy town ambassador.

Tyra loves her belly rubs and will plonk down on the ground and happily roll over at every possible opportunity for anyone. She will never be a guard dog but we don’t mind that.

No matter what we are doing Tyra likes to be in the centre of it particularly when we are outside, eg she supervises jobs like mowing the lawn gardening, painting etc whatever we are doing she’s there.

I won’t say Tyra is best friends with the farm cats but they seem to be happy to share the yard space without any bother. Maybe by this time next year, the friendship will develop further.”
