Microchipping is widely acknowledged as the best method to ensure permanent identification of your cherished pet. The microchip, roughly the size of a grain of rice, is placed under your pet’s skin. It holds a unique number that can be detected by an electronic scanner. This number is linked to your contact details stored in a database.
Microchipping is mandatory for all dogs by law, and failing to adhere to this could lead to a fine of up to €5,000. It’s illegal to sell, supply, or buy a dog without a microchip.
