Make Your New Year’s Resolution to Help Animals in Need in 2025

Join the ISPCA to make 2025 an even bigger impact on animals’ lives across Ireland. Here are seven ways you can help animals this New Year.

Join the ISPCA to make 2025 an even bigger impact on animals’ lives across Ireland. Here are seven ways you can help animals this New Year.

1. Adopt A Pet

Adopting a pet is a great way to help vulnerable animals by giving them a kind loving home, where they will be loved and cared for. By offering just one animal a loving home, you also open space at our Centres for another animal to be admitted so they too can receive the veterinary care they desperately need and a second chance of a happy life. Check out the many animals patiently waiting for new homes here: www.ispca.ie/adoptions/

2. Become a Foster Carer

If making a long-term commitment to adopt a pet is not best time for you, that’s okay! You can foster a pet short-term instead. Fostering helps to give you more hands-on experience with having a pet in your home, while also giving a rescued animal in our care a chance to experience what life is really like in a loving home – likely for their first time. Email [email protected] for more information.

3. Donate funds or items to help the animals in our care

Donations no matter how big or small go a long way to help the animals in our care and we are always in need of vital supplies like unopened pet food, towels, toys etc. Call ahead to check what items we need so you’re offering the best support given specific and seasonal needs.  You can also make a world of difference by purchasing an item from our online shop, such as a Thoughtful Gift.  Visit www.shop.ispca.ie/collections/thoughtful-gifts for more information.

4. Volunteer in your spare time

If you’re not able to make a kind donation, you can donate your time instead! At the ISPCA, we’re always looking for a variety of volunteers hands-on with the animals in our care. We are also looking for groundskeeping and maintenance volunteers, and volunteers to help at various events, or to do some fundraising or help with digital marketing!

There are many benefits of becoming an ISPCA volunteer

  • Be part of the ISPCA’s fight to end animal cruelty
  • Make new friends (furry ones, too!)
  • Become a real animal welfare champion
  • Be proud, being part of a team making a real difference

If you can lend a paw, sign up to become an ISPCA Volunteer here: www.ispca.ie/volunteer/

5. Getting Married?

ISPCA Wedding Favours is a fantastic way for couples getting married, who want to do something a little bit different and meaningful on their wedding day to support their favourite charity at the same time.  As an alternative to chocolates when searching for wedding gifts online, animal lovers can include their own pets in their big day and help support less fortunate animals who have come into the care of the ISPCA. You will be presenting your guests with not only a thoughtful wedding gift for them but a life-saving gift for us. Find out more here: www.ispca.ie/wedding-favours/

6. Leave a Legacy

Leaving a legacy gift to the ISPCA helps save and protect animals from cruelty, neglect, and abuse for years to come. Once all personal decisions have been made, if you do decide to leave a legacy gift to the ISPCA in your Will, whether large or small, your generous gift will mean you’ll be helping to save and protect the welfare of animals in the years to come. Even gifting a small percentage of the overall value of your estate to the ISPCA will make a big difference. Visit www.ispca.ie/leave-a-legacy/. Your generosity will be life-changing, and your legacy will live on helping the many animals we rescue, rehabilitate, and responsibly rehome across Ireland each year.
