Keep Your Pets Safe and Calm This Halloween

Halloween and fireworks can be stressful for pets. Learn how to protect and comfort your furry friends with our expert tips and trusted products.

ISPCA Launches Halloween & Firework Safety Campaign for Pets in 2024

At the ISPCA, we understand how unsettling Halloween and firework season can be for animals. Sudden loud noises, bright lights, and unfamiliar activities can cause significant stress for pets. To help, we’re launching a public education campaign during October and November 2024, providing essential tips to keep your pets safe, calm, and secure during this challenging time.

In partnership with Interchem, we’re also highlighting products like Precision Microbes, Feliway, and Adaptil to support your pets’ well-being.

ISPCA’s Top Safety Tips for Pet Owners During Halloween and Firework Season:

1. Create a Safe Space:

Set up a quiet, cozy area where your pet can retreat during fireworks or trick-or-treating. Keep windows and doors closed to reduce noise.

2. Keep Your Pets Indoors:

Prevent your pets from running away in fear by keeping them inside. Cats and dogs are prone to bolting during fireworks, which increases the risk of injury or getting lost.

3. Distract and Comfort:

Turn on the TV or play soothing music to mask the noise of fireworks. Spend time with your pet to help calm their nerves.

4. Ensure Proper ID:

Make sure your pet has up-to-date identification, such as a microchip which is a legal requirement and collar with an ID tag, in case they do manage to escape.

5. Use Proven Products for Stress Relief:

To provide extra comfort for your pets during stressful moments, consider using products like Feliway and Adaptil, proven to help reduce anxiety in cats and dogs.

All of these products have been tried and tested in our shelters, and they’ve proven to be incredibly effective. The animals in our care showed noticeable improvements in their behavior and overall well-being. We observed reduced anxiety, calmer demeanors, and greater ease in adapting to stressful situations like loud noises. These results reinforce our confidence in recommending these products to pet owners who want to provide their animals with the best possible support during challenging times.

Since starting the probiotics, Robin has shown remarkable progress in nutrient absorption, weight gain, immune system strength, and overall recovery after antibiotics.
