We are recruiting an Animal Care Assistant at our ISPCA Mallow Centre.

• Excellent animal handling experience with equines and canines required. Felines, small mammals and wildlife experience an advantage.
• Experience caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured and traumatised animals an advantage.
• Animal behaviour, evaluation and assessment skills desirable.
• Good basic level of education.
• Keen interest in animal welfare.
• Must be proactive, flexible and willing to work on a seven-day rostered system.
• Good communicator with organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Full clean driving licence required to drive a manual vehicle required, ability to drive a tractor and/or to tow a horsebox will be an advantage.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Mallow, Co. Cork P51 YF98: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Animal handling: 3 years (required)
• equine care and handling: 1 year (required)
