The ISPCA is thrilled to announce its inaugural charity golf event, set to take place on the 30th of August 2024, at Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club, Bettystown, Co. Meath.

The event aims to raise much-needed funds to support the ISPCA’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Ireland’s most vulnerable animals.

The ISPCA has been a beacon of hope for countless animals across Ireland, with rescue and rehabilitation Centres in Longford, Donegal, Mallow, and Wicklow. The charity works tirelessly to prevent animal cruelty and neglect, providing rescued animals with veterinary care, a safe haven, and a second chance in new loving forever homes.

The decision to host a golf event stems from the ISPCA’s ongoing efforts to engage the community in its mission. Golf is not only a beloved sport, but also an excellent way to bring people together for a worthy cause. The ISPCA hopes that this event will not only raise vital funds but to also increase awareness about responsible pet ownership.

The ISPCA is thrilled to team up with Lorraine Keane, well-known TV & radio presenter, content creator, golfer and dog lover.  Lorraine said: “This is a wonderful initiative and a great way to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, while enjoying a lovely day out to network and have fun on the golf course at the same time. As a dog mom myself, I’m delighted to support such a great cause that’s so close to my heart. I urge golf enthusiasts to rally together to support the ISPCA, so they can continue to rescue Ireland’s most vulnerable animals, provide a safe haven for them until they get a second chance of a good life in a loving forever home”.

Participants in the golf event will enjoy a day of friendly competition on one of Ireland’s most beautiful golf courses. The format of the event is a 10-minute interval tee-off, ensuring that golfers of all skill levels can join in the fun. In addition to the golf, there will be a host of other activities, including refreshments, a raffle and an awards ceremony.

One of the highlights of the event is the special Team and Hole Sponsorship Deal. For a contribution of €650, companies can sponsor a team and a hole, receiving a €100 discount as an incentive. This package offers an excellent opportunity for businesses to show their support for animal welfare, while enjoying a fantastic day out with colleagues and clients.

The funds raised from this event will go directly towards the ISPCA’s life-saving work, to rescue even more animals from dire situations, providing veterinary care, and offering shelter and rehabilitation until they can be responsibly rehomed.

ISPCA CEO, Dr Cyril Sullivan said:  “We are incredibly excited about our inaugural golf event, and this is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the community and raise vital funds for our cause. Every euro raised will make a significant difference in the lives of the animals we care for. We hope that this event will become an annual tradition, growing in size and impact each year”.

The ISPCA invites everyone to join in this meaningful event, whether as a golfer, sponsor, or supporter. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Ireland’s most vulnerable animals”.
