After the pandemic, people who could no longer care for their dogs have been attempting to hand them into dog pounds, abandon them or – even worse – chain them to fence posts and simply walk away.
The ISPCA will never leave an animal in danger or suffering from cruelty or neglect.
Our National Emergency Appeal will go to helping animals like Sadie.
Sadie was a maltreated 7-month-old Staffie with mange and an ulcer on her eye and had developed neurological problems.
Since arriving in our care, Sadie has been getting the proper treatment for her mange and ulcer, but it will take time for her to recover from the psychological damage done to her. She is now getting the love and care she needs to one day move on to her forever family.
We need your help to cope with the rise in the number of animals being abandoned. With your support, we will be able to:
- Secure emergency short-term kennels for at-risk animals.
- Provide immediate veterinary care to newly rescued animals
- Expand the capacity of each of our ISPCA Rescue Centres
- Continue to find loving new homes for animals in our care to make room for animals currently in danger.
