He can be unsure when it comes to affection and is still learning how to interact with people, often giving little bumps as he figures things out. With patience and kindness, he is beginning to understand that human contact can be a positive and comforting experience.

Wesley is very food motivated and will do just about anything for treats, which will be a great help when it comes to training and building his confidence. He has taken well to wearing a harness and is already making progress with his walks.

Due to his past, Wesley experiences guarding based reactivity and will need an experienced owner who understands his background and is committed to helping him continue to learn, grow and adjust to life in a home environment. With the right guidance, Wesley has so much potential to become a wonderful companion.

Wesley would be best suited to an adult only home where he can have a calm and stable environment, and he would need to be the only pet in the home.

It is hard to imagine a dog like Wesley not being cherished, but now is his chance to finally experience the love and care he deserves.
