About Smokey

Smokey is a wonderful dog who is looking for a family who will give him a cosy sofa and a secure garden to do his zoomies in. Smokey gets along well with most dogs and can live with another dog in the home pending a successful meet and greet. He walks like a dream on the lead and like most lurchers, is easy going. He enjoys playing ball and running as fast as he can (for about 10 minutes, then it’s nap time) and then chilling out. He wouldn’t be suitable for a home with a cat.

Smokey is vaccinated, neutered and ready to head home. Like most lurchers he is a lower maintenance dog when it comes to exercise needs and would be perfect for a family who prefers a more chilled out approach to life. Lurchers are happy to go on long walks without feeling under stimulated when it’s not always a possibility. Smokey also has a very gentle temperament making him a wonderful first dog or a family dog.

The member society or animal centre will give you information on adopting an animal, including the cost, and can help you fill out the right forms.

Step Three

Meet him/her

Following an assessment to match you with the right pet, you can meet the animals and reserve the animal you like.

Step Four

Show us around

A home visit will then be carried out to check your home is suitable for the pet you have chosen.

Step Five

Welcome your new best friend

When all the paperwork and checks are complete – you can take your new pet home! A follow up visit is usually carried out to make sure you and your new pet are happy!
