About Rodger

Rodger is looking for a special home. He is a long term resident who came into ISPCA care back in June 2022. He is a very affectionate, cuddly and loving dog who craves company and a comfy bed. Rodger is really hoping that he might find a home after hitting 2 years in the ISPCA. He was originally rescued as an injured stray, spending his first few days in the vets receiving care for his wounds. He thankfully made a full recovery although he does have some scars to remind us of the tough times he experienced in his life.

He is fully vaccinated, neutered and would do well as an only dog or the right doggy companion. He is particularly fond of some of our female lurchers and is currently living with another one of our residents, Chrishell. Lurchers often get overlooked due to the misconception that they are high energy, however after 20 minutes of exercise, Rodger loves to pan out on his bed. Because Rodger is so affectionate we have learned he can become a little anxious when left alone, however having a doggy friend seems to help this immensely, or having someone in the home a vast majority of the time. He is a big fan of his comfort and enjoys curling up in a big duvet!

If you think you could offer Rodger a loving home please fill in an application form, call 0879550458 or email [email protected] for more information! You will be guaranteed a best friend for life.

The Process

The adoption process at the ISPCA is designed to ensure the best possible match between animals and their prospective adopters.

Step One
Contact us

Contact the member society or animal centre and arrange to visit them. To save time you can complete an application form online, directly from the animal page.

Step Two
Get all the info

The member society or animal centre will give you information on adopting an animal, including the cost, and can help you fill out the right forms.

Step Three
Meet him/her

Following an assessment to match you with the right pet, you can meet the animals and reserve the animal you like.

Step Four
Show us around

A home visit will then be carried out to check your home is suitable for the pet you have chosen.

Step Five
Welcome your new best friend

When all the paperwork and checks are complete – you can take your new pet home! A follow up visit is usually carried out to make sure you and your new pet are happy!
