About Layla

Live with another dog: No

Live with a cat: No

Live with children: No

When Layla came into our care, she was severely emaciated, with her ribs clearly visible and significant muscle wastage. She was also covered in scars, with some open wounds that required immediate veterinary treatment. It’s clear she has had a very difficult past, likely being used for breeding, but she is now safe and ready to start again.

Layla has a grade 1–2 heart murmur, which will need monitoring, but it doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She is great on the lead, muzzle trained, and absolutely loves her toys.

While she is not reactive on walks, Layla can be wary of other dogs in her space, so she is looking for a home where she can be the only pet — no other dogs or cats. She would be best suited to an adult-only home (18+) where she can feel secure and relaxed.

This sweet girl has so much love to give and deserves a home where she will finally be cherished.

Layla is currently in the care of NSPCA Longford

The Process

The adoption process at the ISPCA is designed to ensure the best possible match between animals and their prospective adopters.

Step One
Contact us

Contact the member society or animal centre and arrange to visit them. To save time you can complete an application form online, directly from the animal page.

Step Two
Get all the info

The member society or animal centre will give you information on adopting an animal, including the cost, and can help you fill out the right forms.

Step Three
Meet him/her

Following an assessment to match you with the right pet, you can meet the animals and reserve the animal you like.

Step Four
Show us around

A home visit will then be carried out to check your home is suitable for the pet you have chosen.

Step Five
Welcome your new best friend

When all the paperwork and checks are complete – you can take your new pet home! A follow up visit is usually carried out to make sure you and your new pet are happy!
