About Kimmie

Kimmie is a quiet, gentle 2 year old lurcher, now ready to find her forever home.

When she first arrived to us, she was quite nervous, but she has gradually learned to trust our volunteers and is growing in confidence every day. While she may be shy around new people, she warms up with patience and kindness.

She is a timid, sweet-natured girl, who gets along very well with the dogs she has met at the shelter and would likely benefit from the company of a calm, friendly canine companion in her new home, however, that is not a condition of her adoption. Kimmie walks very nicely on the lead, keeping a gentle, relaxed pace. She particularly enjoys her walks around the fields, where she takes great interest in stopping to sniff and explore all the different scents along the way.

Because of her sensitive nature, we feel Kimmie would be best suited to a quieter home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. An adult home or a household with older teenage children would be ideal, as they are more likely to understand her need for patience and gentle handling. With the right home, Kimmie has so much love to give and will make a loyal and devoted companion.

Kimmie has been spayed, is microchipped 92274200321287, has been vaccinated and has received the usual preventative flea/worm treatments.

Kimmie is currently in the care of Kildare and West Wicklow SPCA

The Process

The adoption process at the ISPCA is designed to ensure the best possible match between animals and their prospective adopters.

Step One
Contact us

Contact the member society or animal centre and arrange to visit them. To save time you can complete an application form online, directly from the animal page.

Step Two
Get all the info

The member society or animal centre will give you information on adopting an animal, including the cost, and can help you fill out the right forms.

Step Three
Meet him/her

Following an assessment to match you with the right pet, you can meet the animals and reserve the animal you like.

Step Four
Show us around

A home visit will then be carried out to check your home is suitable for the pet you have chosen.

Step Five
Welcome your new best friend

When all the paperwork and checks are complete – you can take your new pet home! A follow up visit is usually carried out to make sure you and your new pet are happy!
