Alba

Alba is a  young girl who has endured more than any dog should.  Every day, Alba greets the world with a big smile and a waggy tail, ready to try again and learn that not everything has to be scary. It’s impossible not to fall in love with her. She has such a gentle and sensitive heart. She has been through a lot in her short little life. When she arrived, she had a severely damaged eye which had to be removed. Alba came from a very overcrowded and dirty environment, along with several other frightened Collies. About Alba

Live with another dog: Pending successful meet, can be selective

Live with a cat: No

Live with children: 18+

Alba loves to be around females, she just seems to be so much happier in their company. Due to her past Alba does find things a little scary and can feel insecure in new surroundings or with new people. We would love her to find a home where a female carer is her main point of comfort and trust.
She is a little hard of hearing so a kind and patient owner with a heart as big as hers is what she deserves. We are all very proud of Alba and how far she’s come. She could potentially live with another calm dog pending a dog meet. Due to her sensitive nature, Alba would be best suited to a home with teenagers (16+) or adults only. In the right caring and loving home, this special girl has so much potential to grow and truly part of a home.

Alba is currently in the care of NSPCA Longford

The Process

The adoption process at the ISPCA is designed to ensure the best possible match between animals and their prospective adopters.

Step One
Contact us

Contact the member society or animal centre and arrange to visit them. To save time you can complete an application form online, directly from the animal page.

Step Two
Get all the info

The member society or animal centre will give you information on adopting an animal, including the cost, and can help you fill out the right forms.

Step Three
Meet him/her

Following an assessment to match you with the right pet, you can meet the animals and reserve the animal you like.

Step Four
Show us around

A home visit will then be carried out to check your home is suitable for the pet you have chosen.

Step Five
Welcome your new best friend

When all the paperwork and checks are complete – you can take your new pet home! A follow up visit is usually carried out to make sure you and your new pet are happy!
