Who we are Who we are

The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is recognised as Ireland’s leading animal welfare charity. Our role is to prevent cruelty to animals, to promote animal welfare and to proactively relieve animal suffering in Ireland.

Harrison may start off a little shy, but give him some space (and maybe a few treats), and he’ll be headbutting your legs in no time. At 1 year and 8 months, Harrison is a sweet boy who's come a long way from a rough start. Once he feels safe, he’ll come looking for gentle pets and quiet company.

He’s not a lap cat (yet), but he is a fan of calm vibes, soft voices, and friendly feline pals. He’s been great with other cats in care and shares a special bond with his best buddy Ford, so a home for two would be the dream.

Fully vaccinated, neutered and very handsome. No dogs, please, Harrison like his namesake prefers his drama on the silver screen only. 😻

Lucky little badger 🦡

This curious little guy had quite the adventure. We got a call about an animal in a wheelie bin, not moving much but still alive.

When our inspectors arrived, they found a very frightened badger who’d fallen in while most likely searching for food. A small wall nearby had helped him climb in, but there was no way for him to climb out!

Thanks to the kind caller for getting in touch. Luckily, the badger wasn’t hurt and dashed off safely once released.

Big Pup Energy incoming 💙

Ted is your classic overgrown puppy: full of beans, big on affection and always up for an adventure. He’s got the enthusiasm of a toddler on espresso and the charm to match.

Ted's still polishing his manners, toilet, lead and obedience training are on the to-do list, but he’s a clever lad who’s shown great promise. He's been a star with staff, volunteers, and even the vet (high praise indeed).

He’s been okay around other dogs but subtle he is not. Think lovable steamroller. He’d likely do best as the only dog or with a very chilled-out canine buddy who doesn’t mind a bit of chaos.

Vaccinated, neutered and ready to roll, Ted just needs an experienced owner, a secure garden and someone familiar with breed-specific restrictions to help him thrive.

If you’re looking for a big-hearted goofball with potential to be your best mate, Ted’s your guy. 🐶
